Flying the Dutch flag

The Netherlands is home to one of the most prestigious ship registers in the world. Ranked in the top of the Paris MoU white list, the Dutch flag assures shipowners a warm welcome in ports around the world. In 2019 the Ministry of Infrastructure and Watermanagement launched the NL flag campaign to promote the Dutch flag and its accessibility.

Check www.nlflag.nl and learn more about the benefits of the Dutch shipregister for shipowners and ship managers.

The aim of the campaign is to increase the number of vessels flying the NL flag. In order to strengthen the Dutch maritime cluster and to further develop maritime related economic activity and employment.

Apart from adding to the strength of the maritime industry a strong ship register also contributes to the position of the Netherlands in international maritime organisations such as the IMO.
