Human Capital Coalition Energy Transition launched

Currently, there are over 8000 outstanding vacancies in the port of Rotterdam. This number is expected to grow even further in the nearby future. During the coming years the labour market of the port and its aligned industries will change, due to processes like the energy transition. As a result, certain jobs will change or disappear, while new jobs will come into existence. It is expected that this will yield between 10.000 and 15.000 additional jobs over the coming time.

On Monday, January 16, 2023, Deltalinqs, Havenbedrijf Rotterdam N.V., Gemeente Rotterdam, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, Techniek College Rotterdam and STC Group, mutually signed a declaration of intent for creating the so-called ‘Human Capital Coalition Energy Transition’. With this declaration, the parties have launched a collective approach to acquiring and maintaining qualified personnel for the port of Rotterdam.
